Every year, members of the lodge identify families in the Tri-County area who have experienced a time of crisis and will have a difficult time providing Christmas for their children.
The FOP Kids and Cops program is designed to build relationships between our Lodge and the community. Officers taking underprivileged kids shopping for Christmas presents or school supplies shows those children that the police in their area are friends and are always there to help. Giving a child a present, when they wouldn’t have received one, or the supplies they need to excel in school, can make a lasting impression.
Members of the lodge meet with the families while in their agency uniform and shop with them for a special gift for the children. This allows us to help families in our community and promote a positive relationship with these children.
This program provides less fortunate children from our community an opportunity to experience the Christmas spirit. It also provides law enforcement officers, citizens, and businesses alike an opportunity to give back to our community and share in the spirit of giving!
